Kevin Lyttle, Tarakon Records sign major deal with Sony-Ultra

Vincentian soca superstar Kevin Lyttle and his independent record label, Tarakon Records, recently signed a ‘major’ deal with Sony-Ultra.

According to a release issued last Thursday on the Tarakon Records Facebook Page, the partnership will see Sony-Ultra and Tarakon Records releasing Lyttle’s next four upcoming projects, including his 2017 release ‘Slow Motion’.

The move is being hailed as a ‘monumental’ one for Lyttle, other artistes on the label and the Caribbean Community.

According to the release, in the 10 years of the label’s existence, Tarakon has grown to 11 artistes in the past few years.

Lyttle shot to international superstardom in 2003 after signing with Atlantic Records.

In 2003, the remixed version of ‘Turn Me On,’ the song which initially propelled Lyttle’s career reached number two on the United Kingdom (UK) charts, where it spent seven weeks in the top 10 of the UK singles charts.

Turn Me On also became a hit worldwide when the song reached number four on the United States charts, number three in Australia and placed within the top five in many European countries.

In 2016, Lyttle’s collaboration with Ñengo Flow peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Tropical chart.

Tarakon Records is co-owned by Lyttle’s wife Dr Jacqueline James-Lyttle.
