Gospel artiste makes dream come true by releasing album

After seeing himself in visions ministering to the world through music, 23-year-old Keevin Jackson decided to make his dreams a reality by releasing a gospel album.

In a recent interview with SEARCHLIGHT at the Beachcombers Hotel, Jackson said that from a very young age he has always had the desire to play music.

“Nobody taught me how to play music. I just played music by myself by just watching…I believe from that time in church being in that setting, maybe before I was even born, he put that desire in me to do music…,” he said.

Jackson’s album ‘The Remnant’ comprises both reggae and contemporary gospel music.

“It’s very, very powerful,” he said about his album.

Jackson recalled speaking to someone whom he describes as unsaved, who told him that the album changed their lives.

He said that he is amazed by the lyrics and music that God has put in him for his album.

“A couple years ago I never thought I could have written music.”

He stated, however, that local sales of the album have been challenging, since many persons rather give encouraging words than actually purchase the album.

“But I know God will open doors; I’ve seen a lot of people from outside St Vincent who [are] buying the album online….”

The gospel artiste said that while he does not write music for monetary gain, he knows that God will always provide for him.

“It doesn’t matter if people would not support me here; God would always open a door for me to receive financial support and to live as a man.”

He noted that anyone who enters this arena and does it only for money is putting their needs above God’s.

“If you are trying to pursue a career that is different than secular, it’s all about what God wants,” Jackson advised.

His hit song on the album ‘Holy Spirit’ already has over 50,000 views on Facebook and over 2,000 views on YouTube.

Jackson noted that he was inspired by God to write the song after being overcome by his presence one day in his bedroom.

“I was just singing and experiencing what I was encountering,” he explained.

The gospel artiste noted that he would like for his music to take him to nations of the world to minister through music to people.

“When I was younger, I saw myself in visions on stages ministering for…known evangelists. And, I see God taking me to nations to spread the gospel to allow people to encounter the presence of God through my music,” Jackson said.

Jackson, however, noted that it was only about three years ago that really began knowing God.

And, for young persons who are not Christians, Jackson stated that they need to first encounter Jesus Christ.

“As long as you encounter Jesus Christ like Apostle Paul, you can never be the same…it’s impossible to encounter a magnificent person like Jesus and be the same.”

He also encouraged them to find a church that preaches about Jesus.

Jackson’s album can be found on all digital download sites and may be purchased locally at Coreas City Store.(CM)
