Yvette: I’ll do it again

If I have to do it again, I definitely will! When I left in 1981 in the second set of students to study in Cuba, I never anticipated such a profound experience.

Not only did I graduate with a Licentiate in Accounting, I also acquired a second language. {{more}}The 5 years I spent in Cuba also instilled in me an invaluable appreciation and a bond of love and indebtedness to a country and its people, as well as a clearer understanding of life and myself.

My studies in Cuba have opened the door for me to practise a profession which I can describe as very dynamic, rather interesting with tremendous scope and potential.

• Yvette Barnwell Wickham, married Andreas Wickham in Havana Cuba in 1985. They have two children, Shanee, 16, and Josh, 13. She graduated in 1987 from the University of Havana in Accounting and today is the Auditor in the Treasury of the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
