Three Marketing ideas your small business should try today!
As a small business owner or an entrepreneur sometimes, you may find Marketing, especially digital Marketing to be quite overwhelming. Juggling the day to day yet still finding time for Marketing and keeping up with the constant changes can be a bit daunting especially without guidance or assistance. I would like to see you benefit from remarkable results from Marketing and PR, therefore, this week, I am sharing three ideas that your small business should try in 2022:
1. Write a sales page or a sales pitch for your products or service.
This is key, particularly if you have a website but even if you don’t it helps you to define the features and benefits of your offering. Here’s a breakdown What is it?
Your sales page or one pager or sales pitch answers the why. It gives insight into why someone should purchase from you and offers solutions to their problems whilst eliciting a response. As opposed to merely describing your service/product, it persuades someone to buy.
Why do you need it?
Your offering may be great, and people may agree that it’s an awesome service – they may even say it’s something that’s needed. However, there’s a difference between liking a product/service and then buying it. That why ‘likes’ on social media don’t always translate into sales. Consumers need persuasion to make the purchase and your sales page on your website for example does that. The message and the language must be right and must prompt people to act! Writing persuasively is an art so outsource this task if necessary.
2. Backlinks! Backlinks!
If you have a website, backlinks are your friend, or they should be your friend!
What is it?
When a website links to another website, it’s called a backlink. When there are a lot of these links from other sites to your site, it helps to improve your rankings on Google.
Why do you need them?
When someone creates a backlink to your website, it acts as a signal to search engines that they are vouching for your content. The more sites that give you backlinks, the more signals the search engines get, and it helps to improve ranking. In a nutshell, more backlinks = better Google rankings.
How do you get them?
Some of the best ways include: creating content that people love, sharing it everywhere and people will naturally link it. Connect with your suppliers for example and ask them to add you to their site or if you appear as a guest on a show or write a blog, backlinks will be included in your bio.
3. Build trust with testimonials
What is it?
You can include testimonials from customers on your social media pages, your website homepage, or sales pages to highlight why others use your product or service
Why you need them ?
Showing why other customers trust you can help to persuade new customers to buy. A referral from an existing customer goes a long way. Get your happy customers to share their comments or give reviews on Google Business, Facebook, and other review sites!
