SVG Coast Guard carrying out operation following plane crash off Bequia

Four bodies were recovered from the waters off the eastern coast of Bequia today by members of the SVG Coast Guard.

They were passengers and the pilot of a small aircraft which left Bequia around noon heading to St Lucia.

The deceased were handed over to law enforcement at the Kingstown Port just after 3 pm.

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard are currently carrying out an operation on the eastern side of Bequia following reports of a plane crash which occurred sometime after noon today, January 4, 2024.

News of the plane crash has been circulated widely after a video showing what seems to be an object falling into the waters off the coast of Petit Nevis.

Unconfirmed reports reaching SEARCHLIGHT are that the aircraft was carrying up to four persons on board.
