Man dies during baptism ceremony, woman charged

A 46-year-old woman in the United Kingdom has been charged with manslaughter after a man died during a baptism ceremony.

A BBC report states that the man, who was in his 60’s, died at a private address in Erdington last Sunday.

The woman, who was arrested in Birmingham on Tuesday, is now out on bail.

The report says that on Sunday, the man was taking part in the baptism which was conducted by Life Changing Ministries in a small pool in the property’s garden.

The event, which was streamed live on the church’s Facebook page, was cut suddenly and the video was subsequently removed.

The deceased has been identified as Robert Yap who had Parkinson’s  disease.

He died at the scene of the baptism.
