First seven places in 2023 CPEA taken by boys
The first seven places in the 2023 Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA) were taken by boys from five of the nation’s primary schools.
Jadon Alexander Hamilton of the Windsor Primary School took the first position with 97.20 per cent.
Tying for second were Kole Kenneth Inniss of the St Mary’s Roman Catholic School and Kajj Akin Murray of the Windsor Primary; in fourth place was Orion Trent John of the Fair Hall Primary; in fifth place was Drez Lyf Compton of the Kingstown Preparatory school; the sixth position was taken by Joshua Curtis Jr. Greaves of the St Mary’s Roman Catholic School and in seventh position was Julian Stanton DeFreitas of the Sugar Mill Academy.
Two girls tied for eighth overall and first for girls. They are Gabriella Tiffany DeFreitas of the Colonarie Government School and Sky Angelena Cato of the Sugar Mill Academy.
In 10th place overall was Kaiden Mateo James of the Sugar Mill Academy who also placed 8th for boys.
The top scorer in Science was Mya Kamea Samuel of the Lowmans Leeward Anglican with a score of 98.67 per cent.
The top performer in Language, with a score of 98.67 per cent was Jadon Alexander Hamilton of the Windsor Primary.
Kole Kenneth Inniss and Orion Trent John of the St Mary’s Roman Catholic School and the Fair Hall Primary respectively were the joint top performers in Mathematics with 97.3 per cent.
Out front in Social Studies with a score of 97.3 per cent was Kajj Akin Murray of the Windsor Primary with 97.3 per cent.
The summary results were posted to the Facebook page of the Education Media Unit on Friday.
The release said 85.17 per cent (1442) of the students met the prescribed standard; of these, 666 were males and 776 females.
This is a slight increase over the 2022 results when 83.87 per cent met the standard.
Forty-seven (47) out of 66 schools recorded a pass rate in excess of 80 per cent.
