Screams and wails erupt as bodies of Clare Valley 5 arrive for funeral service (+video)
The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) was called upon to restore order at the viewing of the five Clare Valley men who perished in the crash at Old Sandy Bay last month.
Khalil Robin, Giovanni Barker, Elvis Logie Harold, Kenroy Phillips, Ishmael Bruce are being laid to rest today following the September 11 crash.
The bodies arrived at the playing field of the Clare Valley Primary School just after 9 am amidst a thick crowd of onlookers from the community.
Screams and wails erupted shortly after the bodies were removed from the vehicles of the Eveready Funeral home and placed on display.
The crowd rushed to the stage to participate in the viewing resulting in pushing and caskets being shifted.
The master of ceremonies was forced to call on the RSVPF to cordon off the viewing area and instruct the crowd to queue in an orderly fashion.
At least two members of the public fainted and had to be assisted by the Red Cross Society.
The funeral service is carded to begin at 10am and the deceased will be buried this afternoon at the Chauncey cemetery.
SEARCHLIGHT will bring live coverage of segments of the service on its Facebook page throughout the day.
