Strategic testing of arrivals to be piloted at AIA again today

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment has advised that “our  strategic testing will be piloted again for travelers arriving in St Vincent and the Grenadines at the AIA on October 2nd, 2021″.

The release, dated today, October 2, 2021 said: “Only travelers considered to be of higher risk will have a nasopharyngeal swab taken for RT-PCR  testing for the SARS-CoV-2 virus at the MLU. Travelers categorized as higher risk include those  who are not fully vaccinated or have been granted approval for working quarantine. Further testing  at the TA/MOHWE approved transition accommodations during the assigned quarantine period  will be at the discretion of the Port Health team.

“Fully vaccinated travelers quarantined for forty-eight (48) hours in a TA/MOHWE approved  transition accommodation will be released when their flight has been cleared. Travelers who are not  fully vaccinated will remain quarantined for the required seven (7) or fourteen (14) days, and released  following additional testing.”

The Ministry will continue to update the public regarding any adjustments to the entry protocol, the release said.
