Tigress roaring in women’s cricket

JG Tigress are staying the course, as they notched up another win last weekend, in their quest to topple defending champions United Survivors, from the top of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association Inc’s women’s 40-over cricket competition.

Staying perfect, JG Tigress registered a seven-wicket win over Super Strikers at the Park Hill Playing Field on Saturday.

Juliana Nero led Super Strikers’ batting, scoring 83 and was joined by Hazel Ann Foster, 32, to see their team to 185 for 9 from 36 overs, as the match was reduced because of rain.

Bowling for JG Tigress, Stacy Ann Adams had 4 for 25 and Samantha Caine, 2 for 33.

Stacy Ann Adams then slammed 76 not out, Samantha Caine, 50 and Zavian Stephens, 24 not out, as JG Tigress responded with 188 for 3 from 31 overs.

And, United Survivors ensured that there is a two-way race, with a comprehensive 10-wicket win over Radcliffe Girls at the Stubbs Playing Field.

Melissa Charles top scored with 16, as Radcliffe Girls were dismissed for 40 in 15 overs.

Cordel Jack made 27 not out and led the defending champions United Survivors to 43 without loss.
