JG Tigress strangle United Survivors in women’s cricket opener
JG Tigress sent early warnings that they intend to wrestle the womenâs 40-over title from current holders United Survivors.
When the two arch-rivals met last Saturday at the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field, JG Tigress were the ones leaving the venue the happier lot.
JG Tigress, choosing to bat, posted 199 for 7 from their 40 overs.
Samantha Caine, who stroked 54, Japhina Joseph, 33, Glendeen Turtin, 26, along with 33 extras, propped up JG Tigressâ total.
The top bowlers for United Survivors were Camille Garrick, who had 3 for 40 and Cordel Jack, 2 for 13.
In reply, United Survivors were dismantled for 147 in 30.5 overs. Kimone Homer was top scorer with 71 and Cordel Jack contributed 21, with 35 extras making a healthy contribution.
Rochelle John took 3 for 21 and Sheneza Daniel picked off 3 for 56, to lead JG Tigressâ bowling.
Saturdayâs other match saw Super Strikers winning by default over Radcliffe Girls, in a fixture that was set for the London Playing Field.
This Saturday, JG Tigress and Super Strikers are carded for the Park Hill Playing Field, while Radcliffe Girls and United Survivors are down for battle at the Stubbs Playing Field.
