Vinlec North Leeward 20/20 Cricket Competition reaches business end

It will be do or die for the eight remaining teams in the 2017 VINLEC North Leeward 20/20 Cricket Competition, as they have reached the elimination phase.

 From this Saturday at the Petit Bordel Playing Field, it will be quarter-finals action.

The bowl-off proceedings will be 2016 champions Sweetie Pie Bakery Peto Stars facing off with House of Graphics Summerset, from 10 a.m.

Then, Robertson’s Survey Future Legends tackle Kishore Shallow Coulls Hill Rangers from 2 p.m.

Sunday’s action is set to get going with RSVG Police versus Ruddy’s Electrical from 10 a.m. and completing the quarter-finals will be Ajuba against Carlos James Troumaca from 2 p.m.

 The preliminary round was completed last Saturday, with Summerset defeating Future Legends by 33 runs.

Summerset scored 165 for 3 off 17 overs. Romano Pierre scored 62, Ronald Scott, 55 and Rawdon Bentic, 26.

Future Legends responded with 132 all out off 15 overs.  Kesron Browne stroked 42 and and Oswald Soleyn, 27.

Kevin Small had 4 for 15 and Christopher took 4 for 20, bowling for Future Legends.

The match between Peto Stars and RSVG Police ended in a no-decision, as a result of rain.

Police reached 157 for 8 off 18 overs, with Andrew Thomas hitting 53 and Romario Grant, 47. Allison Samuel had  4 for 8, before rain ended play.

And, the match between Kishore Shallow Coulls Hill Rangers and Big League was awarded to Coulls Hill Rangers. Big League had informed the tournament’s organizers of their intention to forfeit the match; consequently, the points were awarded to Coulls Hill Rangers.
