Zefal Bailey, Peter Durrant top cycling Hill Sprint

Zefal Bailey and Peter Durrant underscored their status as the top elite and top masters cyclists in St Vincent and the Grenadines, when last Sunday, they were winners of the SVG Cycling Union’s Hill Sprint.

Riding off from outside the premises of the St Vincent Brewery in Campden Park, Bailey was the first to reach the summit at Lowmans Hill, in a time of six minutes 26.32 seconds.  Docking in second was Enroy Lewis, in six minutes 33. 29 seconds and Samuel Lyttle rounded off the top finishers in the elite category, timing seven minutes 30.52 seconds.

Durran bossed the masters segment, in seven minutes 42.48 seconds, with Steve Ollivierre, second, in eight minutes 13.52 seconds.

Martin Bollers was third in the masters, in a time of 10 minutes 54.34 seconds.

The other finishers were Lucky Antrobus, in sixth place overall, in eight minutes 34.38 seconds, with Jerel Browne, eighth, in 10 minutes 54.34 seconds and Leroy Constantine was ninth, in 12 minutes 10.23 seconds.  

Antrobus and Browne contested the elite category and Constantine – the masters.
