Five Vincentians named in Windward Islands U-19 cricket team

Five Vincentians have been named in the Windwards Under-19 team for this year’s regional tournament, following the conclusion of the Winlott Inc Windward Islands Tournament, which ended in St Lucia on Sunday.

The quintet are Rayan Williams, Dillon Douglas, Jeremy Layne, Sealron Williams and Tijorn Pope.

The team will be captained by Johnnel Eugene of St Lucia, with Johan Jeremiah of Grenada, the vice-captain.

The rest of the team is Lee Louisy, Tahj Tavernier, Daneal Dupigny and Jahsean Alexander from Dominica, as well as Kimani Melius and Wayne Edward, St Lucia and Shermill Lewis, Grenada.

The reserves are Donald Mc Donald and Jeron Noel from Grenada, along with Dominican Micah Joseph and Craig Elisee of St Lucia.

St Vincent and the Grenadines and St Lucia were joint champions.

Meanwhile, Vincentian Rayan Williams was the top wicket-taker in the tournament with 12 scalps. Kimani Melinus of St Lucia was the leading batsman with 250 runs.

The top wicketkeeper was Grenadian Jeremy Edmund, who had four catches and one stumping.
