Three double crown winners in National Netball Tournament

French Verandah X- Ceed, OSCO Ball Warriors and the Sandy Bay Secondary School were double title holders in the 2017 FLOW National Netball Tournament, which ended last Thursday at the Kingstown Netball Centre at New Montrose.

X-Ceed, after securing the Division Two league title, added the knockout competition to its trough, last Wednesday.

In getting to the final, X-Ceed had ousted Green Hill Sports Club 55-45, while Nice Radio Clinchers had a 70-46 downing of Island Blends Maple.

But it was an easy win for French Verandah X-Ceed, as their intended opponents Nice Radio Clinchers did not show.

X-Ceed had followed on the heels of two outfits from North Windward, who on the previous day, joyed as well, by completing their unbeaten run in their debut showing in the national tournament.

Sandy Bay gained a 19-14 win over the Buccament Bay Secondary in the Division Four knockout final, and more success was tasted for those who reside north of the Rabacca Dry River, as OSCO Ball Warriors handed a sound 35-18 licking on SVG General Services Maple.

The other top finishers in the league competition of Division Two were Nice Radio Clinchers, second and Green Hill Sports Club, third.

Second place in Division Three, behind OSCO Ball Warriors, were X-Ceed Sports Club, with Blue Horizon Pacers, third.

And, playing second fiddle to the Sandy Bay Secondary was the Girls’ High School and docking in third was the Bethel High School.
