Two more teams reach national First Division cricket semis

French Verandah SVG Community College and Providence Solutions North Leeward are through to the national cricket programme semi-finals of the National Lotteries Authority First Division, after overcoming their opponents last Saturday and Sunday, respectively, at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field.

The Community College registered a three-wicket win over Victors Two at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.

Victors Two made 122 all out in 36.1 overs. Kishore Shallow scored 25, Gerald Gould, 22 and Jordon Jacobs, 21.

Bowling for SVG Community College, Jeremy Layne took 3 for 9, Rayon Williams, 2 for 16, with Roshorn John and Jerremy Haywood, both taking 2 for 36.

The SVG Community College replied with 126 for 7 in 32.2 overs. Urnel Thomas top scored with 36.

Leon Quashie grabbed 3 for 39 and Kishore Shallow, 2 for 12.

North Leeward’s advancement came at the expense of Combined Youths, in a match reduced to 20 overs, because of rain.

Geron Wyllie hit 28 in Combined Youths’ 91 for 7 from their 20 overs.  OJay Matthews, with 3 for 10 and Javon Samuel, 2 for 17, were North Leeward’s most successful bowlers.

Michael Joseph led with 26 not out, as North Leeward reached 92 for 4. Keon Samuel picked up 2 for 19, bowling for Combined Youths.

SVG Community College and North Leeward join Smashers in the last four.

The other spot will be filled by either Ruddy’s Electrical Unique Warriors or Radcliffe Too, who are the remaining quarter-finalists.
