SVG U-19 cricketers go after Windward Islands hat-trick

Thirteen Under-19 cricketers have been selected to not only defend the Windward Islands title, but to complete the hat-trick.

The 2017 tournament is set for St Lucia from June 26 to July 2.

Making up the Vincentian team are seven new faces in Jadiel Chance, Rayon Williams, Rondell Williams, Sealroy Williams, Jahiel Walters, Rayshorn John and Jeremy Haywood.

They join those who were part of the triumphant unit last year when the tournament was hosted here in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Among them are Jeremy Layne, who takes up the captaincy, with vice-captain Dillon Douglas, along with Tijorn Pope, Urnel Thomas, Tilron Harry and twin brothers Sealron and Sealroy Williams.

The Vincentian outfit has the same management personnel as last year in Irvin Warrican, head coach; Roxell John, assistant coach; and Parnel Browne, manager.

Apart from attempting to take the Windward Islands tournament for the third year in succession, the young Vincentian cricketers will be seeking to add their names to the Windward Islands’ team for the 2017 regional Under-19 tournament.
