RSVG Police lock down RSS cricket title

The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police cricket team, over the last Easter weekend, was crowned champions of the 2017 Regional Security Services 20/20 cricket competition.

The Vincentian law enforcement personnel did so at the University of Trinidad and Tobago sports ground in the twin-island republic.

RSVG Police strolled to a 75-run win over Barbados in the final.

Responding to the Vincentians’ 177 for 5 from the 20 overs, Barbados were sent packing for 102.

Doing the damage with the ball for RSVG Police were Kevin Abraham, who collected 3 for 13 and Kesrick Williams, 2 for 12.

In the Vincentians’ innings, Desron Maloney crafted an attractive 89, while Andrew Thomas and Salvan Browne added 27 and 22, respectively.

It was the second time in this year’s competition that RSVG Police left their Barbadians counterparts to watch them take honours.

The Vincentians had beaten the Barbadians in their opening match.

RSVG Police, though, stuttered and lost to Grenada in their second, before rebounding to triumph over St Lucia by one run. They won by one wicket against the host Trinidad and Tobago.
