The first Vincentian male athlete to cross the finish line was Junior Ashton, who placed third.
The emerging distance athleteâs time was 33:54.02.
Completing the top five finishers were Jose Rubiera of the Dominican Republic, who finished fourth in 35:41.06 and fifth was Josnel Ashton of St Vincent and the Grenadines, in 36:14.06.
In the womenâs category, Tonya Nero of Trinidad and Tobago won in 38:31.03.
Taking the second spot was Grenadian Kenisha Pascal in 39:56.06.
Docking in third was Jaisa Sanchez of the Dominican Republic, in 40:17.08.
Top Vincentian female long distance athlete Lisa Daniel had to settle for fourth in 43:54.04.
The other womenâs places were taken by Vincentian athletes Linda Mc Dowall, Alicia Cox, and Sheva Butcher â in that order.
A total of 24 athletes â17 men and 7 women âparticipated in Sundayâs road race, which started at Prospect and finished near the RBTT Bank and CIBC First Caribbean International Bank on Halifax Street. (RT)
