The teams have been placed in two zones.

Zone One is made up of RSVG Police, Courts Power House, Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture, BRAGSA, and Central Water and Sewerage Authority.

Heading Zone Two is the defending champion NBC Radio 705. Also in that zone are Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Transport and Works, SVG Port Authority, and Combined Banks.

Absent from this year’s competition are Customs and Excise, Ministry of Housing, and KPMG, while RSVG Police and SVG Port Authority have joined the fray.

Eight of the 11 registered teams marched up from the Victoria Park, accompanied by music from the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force Band.

After assembling at the Kingstown Netball Centre, there were addresses by President of St Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association Dellarice Duncan, representative of the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture Woodrow Williams and Brand Manager of Facey Trading Ltd Alpian Toney.

The speakers stressed the importance of such a tournament, as it provides an avenue for camaraderie among the workers of the various firms and industries.

During the opening ceremony, Avenues Dancers provided entertainment and there was a shoot-out competition for children, who received products from the sponsor.

Combined Banks copped the best banner award and for the third successive year, Central Water and Sewerage Authority carried off the best-dressed team title.

BRAGSA placed second in the best banner category and Ministry of Transport and Works was second in the best-dressed segment.

When competition began, RSVG Police overcame a spirited Courts Power House, 32-29. (RT)
