Reward on offer for information leading to arrest or conviction in murder of Sandra Browne

Tue Feb 10, 2015

Editor: It has been more than a month since a 46-year-old mentally incapacitated woman, Sandra Browne, was brutally raped and burned alive in Vermont, St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Unfortunately, there has not been an arrest as yet in this case. This has not been the only heinous crime against women that has occurred in St Vincent and in particular, Vermont. {{more}}

A number of other women have also been raped and also beheaded. Mrs Maude Bushay of Vermont was one of these women who was raped and beheaded. She was my babysitter as an infant and continued to be a surrogate mother to me throughout my life. Another female amputee, who was a retiree from the British Army, was also raped and beheaded in Vermont. Sandra Browne’s youngest sister, Mary, had one of her hands chopped off by a domestic partner who is said to be serving a 10-year sentence for this criminal act.

However, many of these cases go unsolved and the most egregious is that victims and families do not receive any sort of mental health care to help them deal with these traumatic situations.

The death of Sandra Browne has touched many of us deeply and it has led us to establish a nonprofit organization in the United States, called Save Our Sisters (SOS), Inc. We have filed an application with New York State as a not for profit corporation. We are currently awaiting the certificate from New York State, then we will apply to the Federal Government to obtain tax exempt status (501 c 3) to enable us to apply for and receive grants to help in providing assistance to these women that are raped and brutalized in St Vincent.

In the meantime, our organization is offering US$400 (over EC$1,000) to the individual who provides information which leads to an arrest and conviction in the rape and murder of Sandra Browne. We trust that this will be an incentive for individuals with information to come forward, so that this heinous rapist and murderer can be brought to justice.

The women in Vermont are not safe with this rapist and murderer on the loose. Individuals with information can go directly to the police or they may contact us by email at SOS@SaveOurSistersSVG.Org
