The truth about the error of sodomy

Editor: The practice of sodomy has become a topic of much attention in today’s society due to several movements that are pushing for it to join other practices in public acceptance. Indeed, it has sparked many arguments and seemingly hasty decisions at head tables across the globe.{{more}}

However, in the midst of the worldly rush to “untabooize” this act, it is wise to slow down and examine the truth about the error of sodomy. Sodomy can be referred to as a sexual relationship between people of the same sex and is, by definition, against the God created order of heterosexuality. The Bible shows in Genesis 2:22 “and the rib which Yahweh God had taken from man, made he a woman and brought her unto the man.” This act from God discloses the nature of the union that is fitting or right in Yahweh’s eyes. Moreover, in order to maintain this social order, Yahweh ensured that he placed the divine knowledge of the “meetness” or convenience of the woman for the man in Adam’s mind. It was this knowledge that was highly appreciated or valued by Adam which caused him to proclaim in Genesis 2:23 “…This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh she shall be called woman because she was taken out of man.” Certainly, he recognized that Eve was “… an help meet for him.”- Genesis 2:20.

Sodomy is therefore exposed by the scriptures to be very erroneous and ungodly, as it opposes the natural view that the man is supposed to have towards the woman and vice versa. Consequently, it destroys the mind and perverts the emotions of those who engage in it. This false religious practice defies God as the creator and lawgiver and dangerously blocks the light of love from creating any positive change within. “Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with woman kind it is abomination (idolatrous perversion) commands Yahweh in love but the Sodomites have not hearkened”. Very sadly, in their rebellion, they make it very difficult for them to be reached by truth, as their thoughts and body’s chemistry, through this wrong sexual intercourse, become deeply involved in the practice.

Eventually they degenerate into an experience of gross vileness, violence, wickedness and hatred whose terminator can then only be destruction. It was this very strong testimony of a destroyed experience that Yahweh saw in the days of Lot and uttered unto Abraham “… because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great and because their sin is very grievous, I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it and if not, I will know.” – Genesis 18:20, 21.

In addition the greatness of this evil was shown in the complete destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Deuteronomy 29:23 states “And that the whole land thereof is brimstone and salt and burning that it is not sown, nor beareth nor any grass growth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboim which Yahweh overthrew in his anger and in his wrath.” Isn’t it clear that Yahweh turned “… the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow making them an example unto those who after should live ungodly”? – 2 Peter 2:6. Why then do you follow in this shameful path?

I, therefore, call upon those who engage in this practice to turn immediately to God for help and use his knowledge (truth) to change your concepts or views. Also, I appeal to others to study the Bible properly, live the truth and have a special watch against this evil, lest you be given up to uncleaness through the lusts of your own hearts to dishonour your own bodies between yourselves. No creation, absolutely none, should attack the Creator by engaging in this nasty, foolish and abominable act. Awaken your senses and have a strong hatred, as does God, for it. Sodomy is so grievous, abominable, defiling, unclean, and society-destructive that it should not be practised, let alone be publicly accepted.

Let those who continue in it remember Sodom and Gomorrah and know that “Yahweh knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgement to be punished.”-2 Peter 3:9.
