Four churches in Bible festival final this weekend

Four churches from around the country are expected to compete in the final of the 2018 SVG Bible Festival which takes place this Friday and Sunday evening at the Faith Temple Church at New Montrose.

The festival, which is now into its 10th year is being organized by the SVG Gospel Fest Committee under the theme: “Study to show thyself approved unto God”.

Participating churches include Kingdom Life Ministries Barrouallie, Pillar of Truth Ministry from Cedars and the Wesleyan Holiness Church Georgetown. They will come up against 2017 champions the Faith Temple Church.

The SVG Bible Festival, which was started in 2009 comprises Impromptu Speech, where participants speak on a topical social or religious issue; Bible Drama where a character or event from the Bible is dramatized; and Bible Boxing which sees the churches face off against each other quoting scripture verses. There are six rounds of Bible quizzes.

The SVG Gospel Fest Committee developed the festival as a way of encouraging persons to read and study the word of God as well as to add variety to Christian activities in St Vincent & the Grenadines.

At the finals on Sunday evening, prizes and trophies will be distributed.
