Students from various secondary and tertiary level schools from across the island are being encouraged to put forward to the public, ideas that can implement new systems or improve existing systems within the public service of St Vincent and the Grenadines and other state agencies that provide services to the public. Such improvements should lead to cost savings or result in the faster delivery of that service.

According to the NTRC, the I2 Competition seeks to primarily focus on the importance of idea creation and the possibilities that can develop from the seeds of innovation that are planted in the minds of our young people. The students will be challenged to develop and present projects in the form of ideas and mobile applications.

All secondary schools, technical institutes, all divisions of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College and the medical colleges are allowed to enter the I2 Competition and will be judged in separate categories.

A launching ceremony to announce the beginning of the I2 Competition will be held on September 11, 2014 at the Glen campus of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College at 10 a.m.

The ceremony will feature an address by Senator Camillo Gonsalves, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade, Commerce and Information Technology.
