The Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, Colonarie Primary School and the St Vincent and the Grenadines Crisis Centre were recipients of a variety of items which are expected to improve their services and benefit persons.

While speaking at a handing over ceremony on Wednesday, public relations coordinator Camille Crichton explained the company’s reason behind the initiative.

“CRD Holding Ltd, which is made up of several companies, including Tamarind Beach Hotel and CCA Limited, employs over 400 persons altogether. Most of the employees are from mainland St Vincent and donating to these worthy institutions will benefit not only the employees, but their families, friends and the larger society,” said Crichton.

Included in the donation were books, toys and children’s cots.

“During the [December flood], we understand that the children’s ward was flooded and lots of damage occurred, so I am sure that these cribs and toys can be used in the rebuilding efforts. The Crisis Centre is now coming on stream and I am sure that a number of patients would have babies and children; so, these gifts can be used by the children while the parents are being treated or counselled,” the PR coordinator said.

“The Colonarie Primary School is reintroducing the ‘Wendy House’ in the system and these toys, I am sure, will be useful in the implementation process. The children can play together and use the toys as a means of learning team building at an early age.”

Acting hospital administrator Grace Walters and the headteacher at the Colonarie Primary School Mignon Walters both took the opportunity to extend their profound thanks to CRD Holdings Ltd.

“It is always good to receive gifts, but in a time when we have had a devastating effect on our hospital, these gifts are especially welcomed. We will always find need for cots or cribs in our institution. They will be used. We are grateful for your thoughtfulness and contribution,” said the hospital administrator.

These recipients both indicated that they are looking forward to having a meaningful relationship with the company.
