The book, ‘By Divine Permission – A Biography of the Right Reverend Sehon Goodridge’, was written by Janet Goodridge, the wife of the late Bishop.

The Barbados Advocate reports that at the official launch of the biography at the Barbados Museum recently, the author said the book gives an account of what potential for success a Barbadian with a good education has.

“This book is an outline of Sehon’s life and achievements in the service of God’s church…. His life spanned an era of tremendous change in the West Indies…. I hope this biography will keep his memory alive, for here again is another example of a Barbadian who, given the opportunity of a good education, had the world at his feet,” Goodridge stated.

Also speaking at the launch was Dr Trevor Carmichael, President of the Barbados Museum and Historical Society, who gave a glowing account of the biography.

“The book is beautifully and tastefully balanced with personal vignettes, and etched with well chosen sermons which mirror the man and genuflect to the gentleman,” Carmichael said.

The biography is available for purchase at the Barbados Museum and Historical Society.
