At about 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, a 40 ton Hino truck; TP 895, registered to C. Huggins, of Gomea, crashed into a utility pole and Digicel billboard in the Sally Spring area across from Marion House, reducing traffic in that area to a one lane crawl.

The truck also burst a water pipe, which brought officials from the Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA) and St. Vincent Electricity Services (VINLEC) to the scene.

Up to press time, it was unclear who was driving the truck, which lay on its side for hours before being towed away, or the condition of the driver and his two passengers.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.(JJ)
