Questelles man out on $20,000 bail for attempted murder

A 55-year-old plumber of Questelles was granted bail in the sum of $20,000 when he appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on Monday, on an attempted murder charge.{{more}}

Peter Weekes was arrested and charged with allegedly using a cutlass to chop Godfrey Anthony, 41, also of the same address, on his back and neck on May 9.

He was not allowed to plead to the indictable charges.

Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias ordered Weekes to report to the Questelles Police Station on Mondays and Fridays.

The matter was adjourned to July 31 and transferred to the Serious Offences Court for hearing.(KW)
