Teen mom charged in connection with death of toddler

Mischicha Peters, an 18-year-old resident of Robertson Hill, Arnos Vale has been charged with causing the death of her one-year-old son McKealti Peters on August 15.{{more}}

She appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court last Friday, where Senior Magistrate Donald Browne read the charge to her.

She was not required, however, to plea nor was she elgible to receive bail.

Peters was remanded into custody and is expected to re-appear at the Serious Offences Court on Thursday, August 23.

Police were summoned to the home of the Peters sometime after 2 p.m last Wednesday, where they met the infant’s aunt holding the lifeless body of the one-year-old.

It is alleged that Mischicha Peters stifled the infant with a pillow. (DD)
