The petite lass said that although she knew that she had done well, she never expected to win Miss Carival show held Friday July 2 at Carnival City Victoria Park. Pieters, who was also judged Miss Photogenic and the most community spirited, said that in her opinion her strong points were the interview and swimwear segments. She won best interview.
“I knew I did well in swimsuit and the question but I wasn’t sure I had won,” said the marketing Director at Becks Trading.
“I am very excited and very happy and truly honoured to be the new Miss Carival,” said Pieters, an aspiring lawyer.
Pieters has over the years won a number of other pageants. She was the Miss West Indies 2002 and Miss Guyana Teen 2001 queen. She was also first runner-up in the Miss Antilles Pageant held in Venezuela last month.
“I going to take a rest for now,” said the 20 year-old beauty who also revealed that her winning Miss Carival is a very big thing in Guyana. She hopes to one day enter the Miss Universe pageant.
